What It Is
An amino sugar and biochemical precursor derived from chitin (shellfish shells or fungi) that acts as a melanin-transfer inhibitor in skincare formulations.
What It Does
N-Acetyl Glucosamine interferes with the enzyme tyrosinase and inhibits the transfer of melanin (pigment) from melanocytes to skin cells, reducing the formation and intensity of post-acne marks and hyperpigmentation.
